DFW is quickly becoming one of the most dynamic metros in the country - a magnet for Fortune 500 headquarters, a rising media hub, and a market poised for even greater visibility on the global stage.
That momentum is about to skyrocket.
In the summer of 2026, DFW will host nine FIFA World Cup matches - more than any other U.S. city. But this isn’t just about soccer. It’s a catalytic moment that will redefine the region’s identity as both a cultural destination and a business epicenter. The World Cup will bring an estimated 3.8M people to North Texas, and the projected economic impact is between $1.5 - $2 billion. That’s equivalent to hosting nine Super Bowls in a single summer.
Last week, the DFW OOH Club brought that future into focus with a special panel discussion exploring the convergence of sports, media, and economic development in North Texas. Daione Sanders (Carvertise) and I had the honor of moderating the conversation, which explored how local media - and OOH in particular - will play a vital role in telling the story of DFW to a global audience.

We discussed how the 2026 FIFA World Cup will serve as an inflection point: driving infrastructure investment, boosting international visibility, and elevating the role of sports marketing in integrated media strategies. With billions of eyeballs watching and a wave of cultural and commercial energy building, this moment is one the OOH industry can’t afford to overlook.
The DFW OOH Club was created to spotlight how Out-of-Home media connects brands with culture, commerce, and community. Our mission is simple: to bring national and local voices together - marketers, media professionals, city leaders, agencies, and creatives - to share ideas, trends, and strategies. Especially during moments like the one we’re about to experience with World Cup 2026...when the eyes of the world are on us.

Thank you to our incredible panelists, Sydney Patterson of Visit Fort Worth and Monica Paul, Executive Director of the Dallas Sports Commission, for sharing powerful insights into local economic growth, strategic planning, and what’s ahead for 2026.
Huge thanks also to TRG and Kelli Jones for hosting us in such a fantastic space - and for supporting the DFW OOH Club’s mission to bring the media, marketing, and civic communities together.
DFW is ready for the world stage. And the OOH industry has a front-row seat.
