Using out-of-home (OOH) advertising around special events and moments allows your audience to create strong associations with your brand. It could be something as simple as a billboard on the I-10 for artists and brands to reach Coachella attendees. Or an activation like Cash App’s which used wrapped vehicles and holograms to reach an affluent, tech-savvy audience at F1 Miami.

Beats at Boston Marathon


As the world’s athletes gathered for the Boston Marathon, Beats showcased their high-performance product to their high-performing audience. When a sponsorship package was pitched to Beats’ agency, they ran with it (forgive the pun!)


To promote their product Powerbeats Pro 2, Beats activated an OOH media package that included a mix of traditional and digital formats. The package featured branded trolley wraps, a spectacular, eye-level station panels, digital liveboards which featured marathon coverage, and much more. What an impactful OOH package to make an impression for both athletes and their supporters.

Strava at London Marathon


Strava, an app tracking workouts and progress for active people, wanted to make their presence known at two of the biggest events for runners: the Boston Marathon and London Marathon. With less than a month to source out-of-home media and to activate on schedule, their agency reached out to PJX for support.


PJX has access to U.S. and international OOH inventory, and our media strategists quickly sourced OOH media for both races. Ultimately, the London Marathon was prioritized with coverage along the marathon route. Digital screens in the London Underground and screens along the route were launched, and with a fully-managed service provided by the PJX team, the campaign activated just in time.
